We live in a small town in Indiana, and like much of the midwest, a vehicle isn’t optional if you live here. The buses are minimal, and there’s no way to go out of town without a vehicle. The stores have moved out of the downtown to the edge of town by the interstate, including the grocery stores. The doctor’s offices and the specialists who my husband sees to manage his chronic conditions are either at the edge of town or out of town. We need a vehicle to manage living here.
Recently on a trip out of town, our transmission began slipping badly, and we had to take it to get the transmission repaired. As we all know, transmission repairs come in two amounts; expensive, and really expensive. We live on my husband’s disability payment. Our income is $1250 a month, and that’s about what it will cost to get the transmission fixed.
So we are staring down a month without income. The utilities will get turned off. We will have to go without food. And I will lose touch with the people in my life because the phone and internet will be turned off.
Unless we get help from the community with the cost of the transmission, that’s what’s going to happen. I hate to ask for help, but I must, because we have nowhere else to turn. We need $1200 to cover the cost of the transmission repair. My paypal is theladyherself1971@yahoo.com.
I thank all of you in advance, because many small amounts add up to us making it through.
